The House on Kodi Street: Part 2 The Gathering

The House on Kodi Street: Part 2 The Gathering
By Deedee Jebrail from my dreams

The house on Kodi Street had changed. Again.

Once hollow and crumbling, it now stood proud—porch swept clean, curtains drawn open like welcoming eyes. Light spilled through the windows in a soft golden haze. There was warmth now, movement. Life.

Or something like it.

I didn’t remember receiving an invitation, but somehow, I knew I was expected. Inside, the rooms buzzed with conversation. It was a kind of conference—organized, almost formal, but strange in the way dreams are. The guests wore name tags that shimmered faintly, like their names had been written in smoke. Everyone had one.

Except me.

I thought about finding the table with blank tags, asking for a pen. But I didn’t move. I just let it go, telling myself it didn’t matter. Still, I felt the difference. I wasn’t labeled. I wasn’t placed.

I wandered until I saw an old family friend sitting at a table in what used to be the dining room. Her face hadn’t changed—firm, closed, unimpressed. She was unhappy, even here. I, on the other hand, felt oddly content. I took a seat beside her, feeling like I was exactly where I needed to be.

A woman floated in—not literally, but close—her steps silent, her smile practiced. She placed two bundles of cookies on the table, wrapped in delicate paper, tied with thin black thread. Four cookies in each.

My friend grabbed them both.

I stared. “I want some cookies,” I said, not angry, just clear.

She sighed, looking annoyed, then slowly slid one bundle toward me. A peace offering? A test? I wasn’t sure.

And then I remembered why I was here.

I was scheduled to speak—to share something about makeup artistry, yes, but I wanted to talk about dreams. How they shimmer beneath the surface of our lives, how they can guide us when nothing else makes sense.

But before I could rehearse even a word, I found myself outside the house.

The porch boards groaned gently beneath me. Crickets stirred in the hedges. Behind the door, I could hear the murmur of the crowd, the hush that comes before a name is called.

Then it came:
“Deedee… to the stage.”

I froze.

My heart beat steady. My hands didn’t shake. I was prepared—I’d lived the stories, learned the lessons, gathered the tools.

But I wasn’t ready.

Not yet.

I stood there on the steps of the house, just outside the door, my name hanging in the air behind me.

The light through the window was soft. It waited.
The house waited.

And I… just stood there.

Five dream intentions you might consider setting during an eclipse

Here are five dream intentions you might consider setting during an eclipse:

1. Embrace Change: Use the eclipse as a symbol of transition. Set an intention to embrace change in your life, whether it's a personal transformation, a shift in relationships, or a new phase in your career.

2. Release the Past: Eclipses often signify endings. Consider setting an intention to release any emotional baggage, grudges, or attachments that no longer serve you. Allow the eclipse energy to help you let go.

3. Seek Clarity: During an eclipse, the light is obscured. Set an intention to gain clarity about a specific situation or decision. Ask for insights and guidance to illuminate your path forward.

4. Balance and Harmony: Eclipses involve the interplay of light and shadow. Set an intention to find balance in your life—between work and play, inner and outer, or any other opposing forces. Strive for harmony.

5. New Beginnings: Just as the Sun reemerges after an eclipse, set an intention for fresh starts. What new chapter do you want to begin? Use the eclipse energy to plant seeds of intention for the future.

See what your dreams reveal to you about the intention you set.

The Mystery of the Old House

 Dream Journal: My Dream

I found myself standing in the eerie silence of a dark craftsman house, the air heavy with mystery. The living room revealed itself as a showcase of meticulous trim work – a rich brown in one room and a pristine white in another. It was a house with secrets, and I was about to uncover some of them.

A mysterious voice broke the silence, as a man materialized before me. "Welcome," he said, his tone as enigmatic as the surroundings. "This is the house."

My curiosity piqued, I followed the man as he led me through the house. He spoke in hushed tones, sharing a secret that sent shivers down my spine. "He hid his guns under the trim," he whispered, lifting a piece to reveal a concealed compartment. The revelation painted a different picture of the seemingly ordinary home.

As we continued our tour, the man mentioned the kitchen, a place apparently ravaged by destruction, forcing it to be gutted and redone. The story unfolded like a cryptic narrative, each detail adding to the mysterious atmosphere.

In the midst of the revelation, I couldn't help but share a personal experience. "I painted the fireplace hearth brown," I confessed. "But a strange turquoise color bled through."

The man's gaze intensified, as if he knew more than he let on. "Why were you crying while you painted?" he asked, his voice echoing through the dimly lit rooms.

The question caught me off guard. It was as if the house itself demanded an explanation. "I don't know," I admitted, a chill running down my spine.

The mysterious voice lingered in the air, leaving me with more questions than answers. In that moment, the house seemed to hold its breath, as if it were alive with untold stories. The enigma of the house remained, inviting me to unravel its secrets and confront the inexplicable connection between the tears, the paint, and the concealed mysteries within the trim.

5 Ways Drinking Alcohol can affect your Dreams

According to sleep doctors, drinking alcohol can affect your dreams in several ways.  Here are five things that drinking alcohol can do to your dreams:

1. Decrease the amount of time spent in REM sleep: Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep is the phase of sleep where we dream the most. Drinking alcohol can reduce the amount of time spent in REM sleep, which can lead to fewer and less vivid dreams.

2. Cause more vivid dreams the night after drinking: Although drinking alcohol can reduce the amount of time spent in REM sleep, it can also cause more vivid dreams the night after drinking. This is because the body spends more time in REM sleep trying to make up for the time it lost the night before.

3. Increase the likelihood of nightmares: Drinking alcohol can increase the likelihood of nightmares, especially if you drink heavily or close to bedtime.

4. Cause more disrupted sleep: Although alcohol can make you feel sleepy, it can also cause more disrupted sleep. You may wake up more frequently during the night, which can interrupt your dreams.

5. Make it harder to remember your dreams: Alcohol can also affect how well you remember your dreams. People tend to remember the last dream of the night they had, and even those details can fade quickly. But if you wake up in the middle of a dream, you're more likely to remember it.

My best advice is to drink lots of water to flush out your system. Allow at least three hours before bedtime and your last glass of wine or alcohol beverage.
